You must measure and possibly adjust the alkalinity when changing the water, or if problems arise in maintaining a stable pH value of between 7.0 – 7.4. This may be after a period of heavy rainfall. The alkalinity must lie at 80 – 120 mg/l.
Alkalinity is measured with strips or a SmartTest.
